On National Day, I got up early and finished all my homework because Grandpa said he was going to take us on a mountain climb. My brother and I had been looking forward to this for a long time.

After lunch, we finally set off! Sitting in the car, my brother and I kept guessing what we would find on the mountain. We were so excited that we could hardly sit still, chatting back and forth non-stop. About an hour later, the car stopped at the foot of the mountain. Looking up, we saw rows of green mountains connecting together; it was absolutely beautiful. We bought the tickets and followed Grandpa up the mountain.
At the beginning of the climb, my brother and I ran really fast and didn’t feel tired at all. After a few steps, we came across a suspension bridge with a stream underneath. It swayed as we walked across it, and my brother and I held hands, laughing as we crossed. After that, there was an even more interesting bridge made of just a thick piece of wood, with ropes on either side serving as barriers. I walked across carefully, then playfully shook the ropes, which scared my brother so much that he shouted, “Stop shaking it!” I just laughed and ran on.
Further up, we came to a small park with a slide. I rushed over and slid down it; as soon as my bottom touched the slide, I felt a cool sensation. When I reached the bottom, I noticed a small hole nearby. Out of curiosity, I walked in, and immediately a fine mist sprayed out, making me feel much cooler, as if there was a little air conditioner working.
We continued to climb, and soon we came across a glass bridge from which we could see the forest below. I wasn’t afraid at all and walked across with big steps; my brother, however, was a bit scared, so he chose to walk along the stone path beside it with Grandpa. Later, we reached a temple, where my brother and Grandpa stopped to eat some snacks and rest. I didn’t want to stop, so I waited for them while walking slowly.
As we got closer to the top of the mountain, there were only 150 meters left. Suddenly, we heard the sound of a fire truck; it turned out that an uncle had suffered from heat exhaustion while climbing, and the firefighters were helping him. I didn’t stay too long and continued on my way. Then my brother called to ask where I was. Hearing that I was almost at the top, he quickly grabbed Grandpa and started chasing after us.
About five minutes later, I finally reached the summit! My throat was so dry it felt like it was smoking, so I bought a bottle of water and drank it all in a few gulps. Soon after, Grandpa and my brother also arrived. We sat on some rocks at the top, enjoying the breeze and the view below; we were extremely happy.
After resting for a while, we started to walk down the mountain slowly. Although our legs were a bit sore, our hearts were filled with joy.
