The Lesson of Snacks

Xiaoming is not very good at math, and he also has the habit of eating during class. One day, while in class, he was caught stealing snacks by his math teacher.

The next morning, as Xiaoming was walking to school with his backpack, a book suddenly appeared right beside him with a thud. The book continued, “Plant one cabbage on the first day, twice as many on the second day, and double the number of cabbages each day thereafter. By the 35th day, you must give me all the cabbages you’ve grown.” Xiaoming agreed without hesitation.
By the 12th day, the pile of cabbages was already as tall as a small mountain, and Xiaoming was exhausted from working so hard. He went to find the book and said with a dejected voice, “I regret it; there are too many cabbages. I don’t want to plant any more!” The book sighed and said, “If you neither persevere nor enjoy learning, how can you make any progress?” As soon as it finished speaking, the book suddenly absorbed Xiaoming.
Xiaoming woke up suddenly from his bed, sweating profusely. It turned out it was just a dream. But from then on, he never dared to eat in class again. He quickly took out his textbooks and reviewed the concepts he had previously struggled with. From then on, he always scored 95 points or higher on every exam. When the teacher saw this, his eyes widened in surprise, and he kept praising Xiaoming for his great progress.
