An Unforgettable Trip to Huangshan Mountain

An Unforgettable Trip to Huangshan Mountain

Today is the seventh day of the National Day holiday. Suddenly, I remembered the time we went to Huangshan Mountain during the summer vacation. The weather that day was absolutely wonderful; I got up as soon as it was dawn. My mom took me, my sister, and my little sister to climb Huangshan together.
An Unforgettable Trip to Huangshan Mountain
As we climbed up the steps, we encountered several little monkeys. They were sitting by the roadside, their eyes shining as they watched us. After walking for a while, we saw a little squirrel holding a red fruit, nibbling on it happily from a branch. As soon as my little sister saw the squirrel, she shouted loudly, “Look! A little squirrel!” But her voice was so loud that the squirrel quickly scurried up to the top of the tree and never came down again. I held my sister’s hand and said, “Don’t shout like that; you scared it away, and now we can’t see it anymore.”
The rocks in Huangshan are really fascinating. There’s one that looks like a monkey sitting there watching the clouds; it’s called “Monkey Watching the Sea.” Another resembles a rooster crowing towards the sky; it’s named “Golden Rooster Crowing at Tiandu.” My favorite rock is called “Wonderful Brush Creating Flowers.” It looks just like a big writing brush, with a tuft of green plants growing at the tip, as if the brush has blossomed into flowers. It’s so amazing—how could ordinary brushes we use ever bloom like that? But the rocks in Huangshan can!
Mom told us that Huangshan is famous for its “Four Wonders”: the peculiar rocks, the sea of clouds, the hot springs, and the unique pine trees. I asked her what the “sea of clouds” was, and she explained that in the morning or after it had just rained, the valleys would be filled with white clouds that looked like a vast ocean. When the wind blew, the clouds moved, just like waves on the sea. But of course, those aren’t real seawater; they’re just clouds from the sky.
We walked for a long distance, but we didn’t feel tired at all. My sister, my姐姐, and I were chatting nonstop along the way, guessing what we would see ahead or competing to be the first to spot a new rock. Our excitement made all our fatigue disappear.
The scenery in Huangshan is truly breathtaking! If I ever have another chance, I definitely want to climb there again.
