Today, when I was on my way to school and had just arrived at the school gate, a sudden burst of white light flashed before my eyes, and everything went dark, as if time and space had come to a halt. Then things started moving again quickly, and by the time I opened my eyes, I found myself in a completely new world—twenty years into the future.
I was confused when a puff of smoke flashed past. I stood up and suddenly realized: Huh, why have I grown so much taller? I followed the path the smoke had taken and soon discovered that I was in a world twenty years from now. The development here was incredible; even the buildings were made of machinery.
But does money still matter in twenty years? If it does, that would be bad news—I left home too hurriedly this morning and forgot to eat breakfast. With a try-it-out attitude, I ordered a bun and a bowl of porridge and started eating. Then I asked a passerby, “Do you need to pay for these?” The person replied, “Haven’t you ever bought anything before? Of course not! You don’t have to pay for anything anymore.” Hearing this, I finally felt relieved.
Since it’s twenty years in the future, everything must have changed. What would school be like? I wondered as I walked on: Could you play all day long? No, that would be chaotic, wouldn’t it? My thoughts grew more and more absurd; I even started imagining a scenario where someone ruled the school. As I walked further, I felt like I was reaching the edge of the world. It was only then that I realized I had gone in the wrong direction and immediately turned back, sweating all over. Finally, I saw the school.
Wow, it’s so beautiful! It’s like a fairyland! The buildings are fifty or even a hundred stories tall, truly spectacular. The playground is enormous, with flowers and plants growing all around the edge, which looks absolutely adorable. The soccer field and basketball court are separate from each other. I entered the classroom, and wow, it’s so big! The desks, chairs, and blackboard are just like those in science fiction movies; everything is intelligent and can be customized to show you exactly what you want, which is truly amazing. There’s not only an entertainment area upstairs but also a swimming pool, among other things.
Suddenly, a “ding ding ding” sound sounded, and I realized it was all just a dream. Even the act of preparing to go to school was fake. But I hope that the future world will continue to improve and become even better and better.
