My hometown 20 years from now

It’s been over twenty years since I left my hometown, and this year, I plan to return there to see my parents. During the company’s holiday, filled with anticipation for my homeland, I boarded the plane. Gradually, my eyelids started to droop, but I felt really strange: it was already a little after eight in the morning, a time when I would usually be working. Why did I feel sleepy? Before I could finish thinking about it, I fell asleep.

Suddenly, my seat began to move, making me itchy. Out of habit, I rubbed my eyes and when I opened them, everyone around me seemed to be stretching as if they had just woken up. Then, I saw someone in the crowd who caught my attention, and I ran towards them.
“Pan Lin! Why are you here too?” “I’m back in my hometown! And you? What about you?” The sound of “ding ding ding ding” interrupted our conversation with my elementary school classmate Hua Huilin.
Once off the plane, the sight before me stunned me. Before I could even take a photo, Hua Huilin led me to the entrance of a restaurant in my hometown and said, “There’s a house from the 2010s inside that has become a popular tourist attraction now. I managed to secure two seats; it wasn’t easy at all. Let me show you around.” But as soon as we entered, I stood still in shock because the people living in that attraction were my parents—although they should have aged, they looked incredibly young! My mom noticed my expression and said, “There are some things here that don’t cost anything and can make us look younger!” “And besides, anyone can keep pandas now; there are many in the country. I’ll get some panda milk for you to drink when we get back!” my dad added.
“Get up, you lazy bug!” My mom’s voice woke me up. Oh, it was just a dream. But I believe that in the future, things will definitely be like that.
