Today, I returned to my hometown of Luotang Township with a feeling of excitement. In this era of rapid technological advancement, what might that familiar land of my childhood have become? I drove a new energy-powered low-altitude flying car back to the countryside, and the scene before me left me in awe.
The small, low houses of the past had all been transformed into three- or four-story buildings, along with numerous villas; even the roads that hadn’t been repaired for decades were now perfectly smooth. Although I had heard about the great changes in the countryside, seeing it with my own eyes was still quite surprising.
I walked to the field belonging to my uncle, which covered more than an acre. It was the autumn harvest season, yet there was nothing growing in the fields. Curious, I went to ask my uncle. When he saw me, he happily opened the gate to greet me. I immediately expressed my doubts, but instead, he took me into a computer room. He skillfully turned on the computer, and the view of the field appeared on the screen—my uncle was using a robot to control it as it harvested the crops. The robot could automatically identify the plants, determine if they were ripe, and even suggest the best time for harvesting based on the weather conditions. After the harvest, it would return by itself, which was truly a convenient and efficient tool!
The next morning, I woke up early because the aroma from my uncle’s orchard had already filled my room. I excitedly visited his “smart orchard,” where the old, bitter, and sour fruit trees had been replaced with improved varieties such as multi-fruit grapes, seedless watermelons, and seedless longans—fruits that are very popular among people. The robots in the orchard were also very helpful; if visitors came by, they would introduce the names of the fruits and the best times for picking, allowing them to experience the joy of harvesting firsthand. From this perspective, it seemed that the city might not be as good as the countryside after all.
Suddenly, a “ding ding ding” sound rang out—it turned out to be just a dream. Although it was just a dream, I believe that in the future, it will definitely become a reality.
