The Village Garden Twenty Years Later

The Village Garden Twenty Years Later

Twenty years ago, the rural vegetable garden was nothing special. It contained vegetables such as green leafy greens, tomatoes, and cucumbers; if there was any extra space, some families would dig a small pond in the back of the garden to raise some fish and shrimp. Life was simple, but it had its own kind of beauty.
The Village Garden Twenty Years Later
Twenty years later, I returned to the small village. As soon as I stepped into the village, I was amazed by what I saw: instead of farmers tending to the garden by hand, there were now little robots doing the work. Even in the largest farm households, only one robot was needed to take care of everything. These robots would water the plants while repeatedly saying “water, water”; if there wasn’t enough manpower, they would call for help from robots from other farms. What were the farmers doing then? They just had to stay at home and control the robots from a distance to get the work done. After watering, the robots would also help with weeding and pruning the plants, keeping the garden in good order; they could even pick the ripe apples from the trees and carefully put them into baskets. I asked the village chief what was going on, and he explained that technology had advanced significantly, and now little robots were being used throughout the village to assist farmers. These robots not only took care of the gardens but also provided weather updates and helped with cooking, greatly reducing the workload for the farmers.
Next, I went to my grandparents’ vegetable garden. It was full of busy robots, but there was no sign of them anywhere. Just as I was wondering, they came out of the house, wearing sunglasses of various sizes. It turned out that some robots had gone to the city to buy groceries for them. I then realized that the capabilities of these robots went far beyond what the village chief had mentioned—they could also do errands in the city for the farmers, so my grandparents didn’t have to drive early in the morning to make their purchases; if they felt bored, the robots would accompany them for a chat or a walk.
Seeing and hearing all this, I truly thought that the vegetable gardens of twenty years later were incredibly convenient, and the farmers’ lives must be much easier. I think we should thank the scientists for inventing these robots, as they have made life much more comfortable for them.
Now, I really want to go to the garden with my grandparents to see this technology-driven scene and remember how hard the farmers used to work.
