Our homeroom teacher, Ms. Pan, is like a magician; sometimes she’s very gentle, and other times she can be quite strict. Everyone says she’s the kind of teacher that seems to come straight out of a comic book.
Ms. Pan has a neat short hairstyle, and her eyes are big, bright, and full of energy. She loves to smile, with a constant curve at the corners of her mouth. But don’t let her smile fool you—as soon as the bell rings for class, she immediately switches into “class mode.”
In class, Ms. Pan’s eyes are like scanners; she can spot anyone who’s talking quietly in an instant. I remember once when Xiao Li was playing with his eraser while she was teaching, and she kept a steady gaze on him. Xiao Li quickly sat up straight again and never dared to be distracted again. However, Ms. Pan rarely loses her temper. Her favorite saying is, “Listening carefully in class is a sign of taking responsibility for yourself.”
Ms. Pan is actually very interesting. Last autumn, the osmanthus trees on campus were in bloom, filling the air with their sweet fragrance. A few mischievous students tried to shake the trees hard, hoping the flowers would fall like rain. Just as Ms. Pan passed by, she pretended to be angry and said, “Who’s shaking the tree? Come to my office for some tea!” But actually, she was just worried about the safety of her students. Those students ended up in her office, and she patiently explained the importance of taking care of plants.
What touched me the most was last Children’s Day. That day, Ms. Pan had a cold; her voice was hoarse, and her face was red. We all thought she wouldn’t come to school, but to our surprise, she insisted on coming to watch our performances. She sat quietly in the last row and clapped for us. After the show, I asked her why she came despite being sick, and she smiled and said, “I wanted to see how great my students are!”
This is Ms. Pan—a teacher who can change her demeanor, but she’s always full of love. Although she can be strict sometimes, we all understand that it’s all for our own good.
