We have a teacher that we call “The Sharpshooter”; he is our programming instructor, Teacher Xiong.
He’s very strict. During the computer classes at school, many students like to play games, but no one dares to do so during Teacher Xiong’s lessons. Whenever he notices someone not paying attention and using their computer for other purposes, he simply throws a piece of chalk at them—always hitting them right on the head. He wears glasses, and his dark hair is mixed with noticeable white strands. His eyes are quite large, as if they were specially designed to monitor those students who are distracted by playing on their computers.
I remember one particular incident. Once, during a tutoring session, I misread the time and arrived an hour early. My grandfather had already left, and I thought the door was closed, but when I went in, it was actually open. I entered quietly only to see Teacher Xiong practicing throwing chalks. Indeed, as the saying goes, “One minute of practice on stage requires ten years of hard work off stage!”
During class, I was secretly playing with my watch when it seemed like the teacher’s eyes could see through everything. Suddenly, a piece of chalk flew towards me. This time, The Sharpshooter missed and hit the person behind me—who happened to be playing as well. The second throw finally hit me. However, my deskmate was using the computer while I was studying, yet the teacher still targeted me. I thought to myself, “The teacher’s behavior is so strange today; why couldn’t he aim properly?” My deskmate was relieved that he wasn’t hit, but then two more chalks came flying, and he got hit twice in a row. Everyone burst into laughter, and my deskmate’s face turned red instantly. Later, the teacher gave me a note that said, “Exchange for a water bottle.” I was very happy to receive it.
That’s our Teacher Xiong—the strict one, but we all love him very much.
