The comic “Teacher”

The comic “Teacher”

In our class, we have a “mathematics snowman who can change his face in an instant”—that’s our math teacher, Mr. Chen.
The comic “Teacher”
Whenever the bell rings to start class, Mr. Chen always stands at the door, watching all the students in the classroom. The noise, which was like that of a bustling market, suddenly fades away: those who were sitting on their desks return to their seats, those who were looking at their textbooks start reading, and those who were searching for pens find them. Some students keep an eye on Mr. Chen, scared that he might give them a “surprise attack” (a stern reprimand). Others steal glances at him, just like mice watching a cat, afraid of being caught. Only then does Mr. Chen enter the classroom with satisfaction. His round body and head sway back and forth, making him look both like a snowman and a stately, plump duck.
During one of Mr. Chen’s lessons, we were about to answer a question wrong, because if we did, he would keep staring at us until we gave the correct answer. While explaining the lesson on the blackboard, it seemed as if he had extra eyes on the back of his head. Suddenly, he asked, “Which number?” We answered correctly, but he seemed dissatisfied and asked again, “Which number?” Confused, we looked at the question again, and then Mr. Chen quietly picked up a “magic tool” from the desk and walked over to one of the students.
The student who was about to be “punished” by this “magic tool” was still playing with his “treasure” under the desk, completely unaware that it was about to be taken away by the teacher—into the “Office of the King of Scolding” (we gave this name to the teachers’ office because they are very strict; if someone doesn’t pay attention in class, they have to stand there for the whole lesson). Mr. Chen approached the student and said, “Bring your hand out.” The student took out a small Rubik’s Cube from under the desk. After taking it away, he tapped the student on the head and then stood in front of him, saying, “Now you know what I’m going to ‘cut’ off, right?” We all shouted in unison, “Please spare him!” After that, we all burst into laughter, and Mr. Chen laughed too. When he laughs, his eyes narrow down to just a line, making him look extremely cute!
This is our math teacher, Mr. Chen—a man who is humorous, sometimes like a snowman, and at other times very strict.
