The morning sun shone through the curtains into the room, and I opened my eyes, ready to get dressed and wash up. Suddenly, with a loud “smack,” I fell off the bed! As I struggled to get up, to my horror, I found that I had turned into a little ant! I now had six legs, and a pair of tiny antennae on my head.
In order not to be discovered by humans, I hurriedly hid in a dark, small hole—turns out it was an ant nest! Sure enough, the nest was full of ants, both hardworking worker ants and newly born baby ants. As I looked around, an ant that looked like the leader of the workers came over and said to me, “You must be new here. You are a worker ant, and your task is to help expand our home with the other ants.” I stood up straight and said loudly, “I promise to complete the mission!”
I immediately joined the team and ran out of the nest, using my strong mandibles to carry soil. The pile of soil grew higher and higher, and the ant nest became larger and larger. Just as we were working tirelessly, a mischievous little boy ran over and kicked away the “castle” we had built with so much effort!
At that moment, a big ant shouted, “Attack him!” Without hesitation, we charged at him. The little boy wasn’t afraid at all; in fact, he even stepped on and killed several of my companions. But the ants didn’t back down; they became even more courageous and rushed forward. With the cover of my fellow ants, I climbed up his leg and bit him hard. He screamed in pain and ran away.
As the sun began to set, its warm rays covered the ground. Looking at my hands, which had returned to their original form, I felt a wave of emotion well up within me. It turns out that even a tiny ant can possess fearless courage.
