My “comic” teacher is Mr. Wang, the new PE teacher who started this semester.

The new semester was supposed to be the beginning of a joyful time, but it turned into a moment of surprise when our teacher changed. During the first PE class in the afternoon, as soon as the bell rang and we were about to go look for Ms. Yang, a stranger walked in. The students started to worry: “No way, Ms. Yang must be sick again, and they’ve called a substitute teacher!” But then the teacher said, “I am your new PE teacher; my last name is Wang.” Mr. Wang! It was like a bolt from the blue for us.
Ms. Yang had been with us for four whole years; she not only taught us how to play basketball and soccer but also let us run fewer laps in winter. We all really liked her.
When Mr. Wang introduced himself, it was like reading a menu: “My last name is Wang, I’m 1.865 meters tall, have a lively personality, and I enjoy various sports, like badminton…” We thought to ourselves: With such an energetic teacher, maybe she won’t make us run ourselves into exhaustion! Sure enough, after a short period of activity, Mr. Wang ordered, “Let’s do a 400-meter run—very simple.” Our chins almost dropped to the ground.
After class, we walked back to the classroom in low spirits, and someone said, “Maybe Ms. Yang got angry with us and left!” Xiao Tao replied, “You were the one who was lazy last time, and she didn’t even say anything to you.” The students started discussing this among themselves.
Mr. Wang’s second class arrived quickly. This time, he took out a large spinning wheel from his pocket, which had both rewards and punishments. The most eye-catching reward was “to have someone else do something you don’t want to do yourself”—it was like having the privileges of an emperor!
We all rubbed our hands in anticipation, wishing we could make the wheel spin faster and faster. Many students got rewards, but when it was my turn, it landed on “run two laps around the playground.” I was really disappointed. But I’m a man of my word, so I immediately headed to the playground and ran the two laps with all my might, while Mr. Wang watched me the whole time.
With twenty minutes left in the class, my classmates and I organized a badminton match. I defeated my opponents one after another, and many students became my fans; even Mr. Wang came over to watch. In the end, I won 7-6 and successfully made badminton a popular sport in our class.
This is our PE teacher, Mr. Wang. Although we were reluctant to part with Ms. Yang at first, now we all really like him.
