My “Comics” Teacher

My “Comics” Teacher

Today, I want to write about our class’s assistant homeroom teacher—Mr. Ma, who is also our art teacher.
My “Comics” Teacher
Mr. Ma is a bit chubby with a big belly and a pair of eyes that are neither too large nor too small. He always wears glasses. His hair is neither too much nor too little; he has the typical “mediterranean” hairstyle. When he smiles, there are two little dimples on his face. In the summer, he often wears shorts and sandals.
Although Mr. Ma is a bit overweight, his drawing skills are highly praised by everyone; in fact, he might be the best artist in the whole school. Sometimes during art class, we draw, and other times we watch TV. While we watch TV, Mr. Ma sits aside and uses his phone. During drawing time, he walks around to check our work and gives us helpful suggestions whenever he finds any issues. He also likes to make small jokes from time to time, and every time, my classmates and I laugh at them.
Mr. Ma can be strict with us at times, but he’s also very kind. When he’s strict, he might yell at us without reason; when he’s kind, he lets us watch TV and tells us jokes. Once, a girl’s drawing was lost by another student, and she cried very sadly. Mr. Ma quickly stepped in to comfort her and told her that if she wanted to learn drawing, she could come to his art studio. After the girl calmed down, Mr. Ma scolded the student who lost the drawing quite severely. Later, when the girl went to Mr. Ma’s art studio, she couldn’t help but exclaim, “There are so many beautiful paintings here!” Mr. Ma’s paintings could probably fetch a high price if someone wanted to buy them.
Mr. Ma is also an excellent calligrapher. During calligraphy class, we write the characters once first, and if there are any mistakes, he patiently teaches us how to correct them. If the whole class makes mistakes, he teaches us again, showing us each stroke carefully.
Moreover, Mr. Ma is always a bit late; sometimes he doesn’t show up until more than five minutes into the class, which never fails to surprise us.
This is our Mr. Ma—strict, but he also has a very warm side to him.
